Jane Eyre 44-58

A:
-amid silence and complete darkness
-shivering
-effort to check the general wrath
-I could distinguish from the gleeful tumult within, the disoconsolate moan of the wind
-burdened with faults in this world
-sin will fall from us with this cumbrous frame of flesh

the "amid silence and complete darkness" explains the mood of Jane Eyre, the depression and sadness, and also shows allusions.
"shivering" shows the nervousness of her new life that would soon lead in her life.
the "sin" that was "fall" from them were to be the devils, allusions of her causins.

I:
Eyre is to be taken to the school finally while the darkness rises upon her. what does the darkness of the weather means? while her destination arrives she is to be carried into the school and why is she always to be carried?
